The user, t0st, revealed how a fix he created was able to reduce GTA Online loading by 70%. The multiplayer mode of Rockstar’s immensely popular GTA franchise would usually take up to six minutes to load. However, this fix cuts loading down to just under two minutes.

In his blog, t0st warned that it was an unsupported proof of concept, however, Rockstar investigated and through a statement confirmed that it was a sound solution.

The update, which went live on Wednesday, 16 March, had the change included for PC players, with Rockstar stating, “Thanks to t0st for his contributions around this part of today’s title update.”

According to Eurogamer, t0st confirmed his cash reward on his blog, saying, “Just got awarded $10k through their H1 in-game bounty as an exception :)) (usually only for security issues).”

GTA V launched back in September 2013, with GTA Online having been added on 1 October of the same year. The game’s online edition launched with a number of problems but recovered to become immensely popular and profitable.

Originally launching on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it was then remastered for PS4 and Xbox One, while also arriving on PC in April 2015.
