A new Silent Hill is probably one of the worst-kept secrets in recent years. Although fans had lost hope after the high-profile split between Konami and Hideo Kojima, a number of known insiders reported that there are multiple Silent Hill games in development. Then came the big leak from last month when Twitter user Dusk Golem shared what are purportedly images from a Silent Hill game in development. After so many disappointments, we might have dismissed those screenshots had they not been struck by copyright claims from Konami.
Following the leak, multiple insiders reiterated Bloober Team’s involvement in one of the projects, specifically naming Silent Hill 2 remake that’s supposedly a timed PlayStation-exclusive. When IGN quizzed the developer directly about the reports, Bloober Team refused to comment but its CEO Piotr Babieno chuckled at the question and said that the studio would “officially” share more information about its projects soon.
Soon could be on or sometime after June 9th, then, as that’s when Summer Game Fest kicks off. We’ll have our eyes peeled.
In other news, it looks like Biomutant is finally getting a native PS5 version. Meanwhile, Dontnod Entertainment has decided to change its name to Don’t Nod, and it has a whopping seven projects in development.
