Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse, a remaster of the Nintendo Wii horror title from 2008, is launching in early 2023 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, Koei Tecmo has announced.
This will be the first time that Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse is playable outside of Japan, as the original Wii version wasn’t released outside of that region.
Set a decade after five girls mysterious vanished at the Rogetsu Isle festival, Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse picks up after two of the girls have died, found with their faces covered up and striking a crying pose. The surviving victims have no memory of the events that happened ten years ago, and head off to the island to solve the mystery of their friends’ deaths and uncover what happened.

Players will rely on moonlight and a small flashlight to search for clues as you explore western-style mansions and abandoned hospital, uncaring old newspapers and notes that help flesh out the story. You’ll also use the classic Camera Obscura to repel malevolent spirits and upgrade your device to defeat more powerful entities.
Fatal Frame: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse is due out in early 2023.
