Federal authorities plan to seize three Xbox consoles and several other electronic items from a West Springfield man who was convicted this year in a child sexual abuse images case.
A federal forfeiture notice in the case against 34-year-old Luke Gagnon shows the government will seize the items after he was sentenced.
Gagnon was sentenced in March to serve seven years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release after he previously pleaded guilty to one count of distributing child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
Records show authorities executed a search warrant in January 2020 at Gagnon’s apartment in West Springfield and discovered a hard drive from a desktop computer belonging to Gagnon which contained several videos and images of child pornography. The hard drive had more than 130 files containing child sexual abuse images, records show.
“In addition, from September 2019 to January 2020, Gagnon knowingly distributed child pornography,” authorities said.
As part of the guilty plea and sentencing in the case, federal prosecutors issued a notice that the government would seize items associated with Gagnon’s crimes.
A long list of items the government plans to seize include an Xbox, Xbox 360 and an Xbox One. The government also listed multiple hard drives, cell phones and tablets.
