You probably heard that Activision Blizzard games often have become the best-selling third-party titles, namely Call of Duty. Here’s an illustration of the top 20 publishers of the world’s largest daily active users, in the autumn 2022. This certainly adds much context and clarity to Sonys concerns over Microsofts pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
Call of Duty 4 times are on the PS5 list.
The chart above was prepared by the study site Newzoo and was presented by the CADE, the Brazilian authorities who recently approved the merger between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard. It shows that Call of Duty games appear four times, and Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2, in various positions. Three of those Call of Duty games appear in the magazine of the Xbox X|S-series.
As expected, Modern Warfare and Warzone are in third place, with the exception of Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto V. Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War and Black Ops III still stand strong, filling the bottom half of the Top 20 list. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 is in tenth place.
The US has always called for a separate investigation. Sony is fighting hard to prevent the merger.
