G2 Esports Unveils elite All-Women League Of Legends Team

G2 Esports have just revealed its first female League of Legends team. The latest all-male team achieved its success by having created a similar team last year in Valorant.

The team named “Hel” after the norse goddess of the underworld, remains eagerly awaiting the approval of G2 to make mixed teams with the highest levels of professional esports and create women role models for the new League of Legends team.

Some members of his team are Olivia “Olizia” Nnenna Calistus, Agne “Karina” Ivaskeviciute, Alena “TIFA” Maurer, Maya “Caltys”, Henckel, and Eve “Colomblbl” Monvoisin.

“It is no secret women are very underrepresented in esports and games in general,” said Caltys. “When I was young, I had no female role model, which was hard to watch and to try to become a role model. But because of the fact that I was a woman, I have had my fair share of negative experiences in the championship ranging from gender inequity slurs to negative online groups hurried at me during official matches.

“While the female scene in League of Legends is still relatively small, G2 have taken a leap to re-sort our roster and paving the way for more to follow. Having G2, one of the world’s largest esport organisations, invest in the scene helps the world learn that there are women who play on competitive levels. I hope this will give women more opportunities to enter esports and encourage young girls to play competitively.

Fellow teammate TIFA was excited and optimistic about a less toxic professional League of Legends scene in the future.

“Joining G2 is literally my childhood dream. And I get to do that with the best teammates and staff I’ve seen before, says TIFA. It’s a huge milestone that breaks stereotypes, full of opportunities and opportunities for female gamers and in general, the esports sector, we all have long been waiting. This simultaneously encourages women to embrace their dreams without restrictions and limits. It will, in theory, see more female players coming across.

Hel expects to announce the first tournament in the coming days.
