Changes are coming with the launch of Games with Gold October 2022, with the final Xbox 360 titles now added to the list.
This means that from now on, subscribers will no longer receive the usual four titles like they have grown used to.
And with no guarantee that Microsoft plans on changing things any further, there could be fewer free games to enjoy next month.

Games with Gold October 2022 Reveal Schedule
The Games With Gold October 2022 announcement doesn’t have a set date, but recent months have seen it occur around the 28th of the month. This means that the news will likely be shared early next week, and is guaranteed to drop before October 1.
That September’s news dropped on the final day of the month suggests that fans will have to wait until next week before they find out what free games will be added next month.
October 1 will be when the first Xbox Gold game will be released, followed by another on October 16. And as noted above, there will be no more Xbox 360 titles included, as Microsoft has currently reached its limit on how many it can add to its library.
A message from Microsoft explains: “Beginning October 1, 2022, the monthly games provided to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Live Gold members via Games with Gold will no longer include Xbox 360 titles.
“This will not impact any Xbox 360 games that you downloaded before October 2022. Any Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles that you redeem via Games with Gold are yours to keep on your Xbox account, regardless of whether you continue your subscription. Furthermore, Games with Gold will continue to include Xbox One titles each month.”
The new schedule for Games With Gold October will follow this pattern unless shared differently by Microsoft:
- First Xbox One Game: Available September 1 to 31
- Second Xbox 360 Game: Available September 16 to 31
No leaks have surfaced suggesting what will be among the latest free games to be offered by Microsoft, and while past months have featured next-gen compatible games, there is never a guarantee that this will be offered again.
