Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers now have two more games they can claim as part of their membership bonuses. The May Games with Gold Microsoft announced only last week have already come to pass, offering The King’s Bird and NeoGeo Battle Coliseum.
As usual with these promotions, both games tout backward compatibility support for newer generation consoles. Breaking down the availability, The King’s Bird can be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S systems, while NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is up for grabs across the Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S generations.
The in-console method of claiming the games may not be up just yet, but the Microsoft Store links below can be used to easily grab them in the meantime. Just make sure to login using a Gold-activated account:
The King’s Bird: Available June 1 to 30 (Xbox One)
Escape into a world kept secret by a tyrant, and discover the truth about your freedom. The King’s Bird is an artistic, momentum-based game that seamlessly combines precision-platforming with physics-based gliding.
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum: Available June 1 to 15 (Xbox 360)
NeoGeo Special Cast unleashes this tag-team versus fighter. In addition to original heroes and heroines, it features a host of unique characters that transcend time; armed with weapons and robots warriors from both old and new titles of the once dominant NeoGeo platform have been amassed under one roof.
For those who missed it, Dungeons 3 from the final May Games with Gold lineup still has two weeks left on its freebie counter, so grab it while it’s still available. It will be replaced by a copy of Shadows: Awakening on June 16.
Games claimed through these promotions are attached to accounts in different ways depending on the original platforms. Games with Gold Xbox 360 titles will continue being playable even after the Gold subscription is discontinued, but Xbox One games are only playable while the account has an active subscription.
