Girls Win First Two Showcase Games | Falmouth Sports

With four goals in the first period the Falmouth girls got off to a great start and rolled to an easy win over Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake Saturday, March 20, in their second game of the 2021 Buzzards Bay Showcase. The win improved Falmouth to 2-0 overall to start the tournament.

Falmouth beat WHSL by a 5-1 score following an opening game win over Pembroke, 5-2. The team has two more games before the playoffs, with contests against King Philip, at The Bog in Kingston tomorrow at 1:40 PM, and at Gallo on Sunday, at 5:30 PM, against Framingham.

Caroline Barrett, a Sandwich High School player, scored two goals in the win on Sunday over WHSL and the team got single scores from Caroline Kelleher (Martha’s Vineyard), Lola Russell and Taytum Cox. Eliza Roman had one assist in the contest, and has three over the first two games.

Kelleher and Russell netted goals just 90 seconds apart to put the team up 2-0 midway through the first. The team then struck for goals in about the same span of time late in the period to make if 4-0 as Barrett and Cox potted goals. Barrett scored again in the second to make it 5-0. WHSL scored in the third.

Barrett leads the team with four goals in two games. Kelleher has three, and Russell and Casey Roth each have two. Roman’s three assists are tops.
