Jetpack Interactive, the studio behind the porting for God of War, has confirmed they’re working on a big new live service title for Sony.
The news for the developer’s new live service game comes from a new listing on LinkedIn by the company.
“We’re excited to embark on a new live services title with Sony – and we’re ready to launch,” the listing says. “We are hiring programmers to join our small & nimble team at JETPACK”.
Sony’s Listing
This listing makes sense in terms of Sony’s own plans of wanting over 10 live service games by 2026. While Jetpack Interactive might be among the first, MLB The Show 2022 is currently the only live service game Sony has published so far. That said, they certainly will continue to want to make moves towards this goal.
Jetpack Interactive have also stated on LinkedIn that they will continue to work on the God of War franchise as well. This hints at the potential future PC port of the upcoming PS5 exclusive, God of War Ragnarök, though it sounds like this live service title might be the more important task in front of them.
Sony’s plans on launching more live service games hasn’t bore fruit just yet. However, the company has made its goals quite clear and moves towards live service titles, like its acquisition of developer Bungie, who developed the Destiny franchise under a live service framework.
