Gran Turismo 7 update 1.23 adds 3 new cars
A substantial new Gran Turismo 7 update landed this week. Update 1.23 adds three new cars that will satisfy speed freaks. These include the record-breaking Volkswagen ID.R as well as the Porsche Vision GT Spyder and Nisan Silvia Type S (S14).
The update also adds new GT Café Menu Books, World Circuits events, and Scape locations, but sadly no new tracks or layouts. For a full list of changes, check out the Gran Turismo 7 update 1.23 patch notes.
Need For Speed 2022 reportedly releasing on 2 December
It’s been an agonising wait for Need for Speed 2022. But after numerous rumours and leaks, the wait could soon be over.
Reliable EA insider Tom Henderson claims that Need for Speed 2022 (allegedly called Need for Speed Unbound) will be released on 2 December, with an “imminent” reveal within the next two weeks.
If the rumours are true, we’ll finally get to see the new NFS game in early October in an official trailer lasting around one and a half minutes accompanied by a soundtrack featuring American rapper A$AP Rocky.
WRC Generations delayed
We’ve been looking forward to WRC Generations. Originally, Kylotonn’s final game was set for release in early October. Unfortunately, however, the game has suffered a delay.
The new WRC Generations release date is 3 November. Delaying the game means WRC Generations will launch on PC and consoles simultaneously while giving the team extra polishing time.
It’s not all bad news though because Kylotonn has also revealed the WRC Generations Deluxe Edition contents and pre-order bonus.

To reflect driver performances in the 2022 season, Codemasters has also updated the F1 22 driver rankings, which sees Max Verstappen continue to dominate and advance to the top at rank 96.
Several months after the PC release, Assetto Corsa Competizione’s long-awaited update 1.8 is now available to download on PS5 and Xbox Series X. This is a significant update that adds a new tyre model, 400hZ physics engine, and paves the way for the American Track Pack and Challenger Pack DLC coming to consoles in November.
If rumours are to be believed, EA will finally reveal the new Need for Speed 2022 within the next two weeks before it releases on 2 December. Before then, we may have had an early peek at the game logo, which seemingly confirms the next NFS will be called Need for Speed Unbound.
If you own a PS5 and haven’t played Hot Wheels Unleashed yet, you’re in luck – Milestone’s magnificent arcade racer is free to download in October for PS Plus subscribers.
In the sim racing space, new GTR Revival details have been unveiled: Ian Bell’s GTR2 successor is aiming for a Q4 2024 release and will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. RaceRoom Racing Experience also received a WTCR 2022 Car Pack.
