GTA 6: PS5 and Xbox Series X release should include this San Andreas link | Gaming | Entertainment

The Grand Theft Auto series has some long-running jokes, and there is no reason why some of these won’t be popping in GTA 6.

Reportedly launching between late 2022 and early 2023, the next Grand Theft Auto game is expected to be a PS5 and Xbox Series X exclusive.

This will be followed by a launch on PC consoles, with other launches on streaming services also a possibility.

There are some good reasons why developers Rockstar Games will want to get GTA 6 on PC as soon as they can, but as seen with the rocky launch of Red Dead Redemption 2, there is no sense in rushing into anything.

There have also been a lot of recent rumours regarding the setting of GTA 6, which will be a major part of the game.

This will affect what vehicles we can expect to use, and depending on the era, what jokes and storylines will be part of the setup.

One character that could be returning for the sequel is Cris Formage, although that’s not based on any leaks or insider information.

While only appearing in the most recent games, Formage has featured in San Andreas, GTA 5 and GTA Online.

The Epsilon Program leader might only play a small role in each game, but with such a long-running appearance rate, there is no reason to believe the cult leader won’t be featured again.

For those fans hoping to see a few gags dropped regarding Formage in the next game, the character actor, Fred Melamed, has confirmed he is no currently working on the project.

The good news is that he hopes he will return, telling Inverse earlier this year: “When you work for Rockstar, it’s like making a big-budget feature film.

“It’s almost like working for Marvel. They have a massive studio in New York. And you sign NDAs, they go on for like, oh, like a Bible, they’re huge. And they swear you to secrecy.”

“As to whether or not Cris Fromage will make another appearance, I don’t know, but I’m certainly game,” he added.

Another character that seemed destined to return in GTA 6 is Lazlow, a radio host who has been featured in nearly every game in the franchise.

However, it should be noted that character actor Lazlow Jones announced his departure from Rockstar Games due to personal reasons, where he played the fictional Lazlow character, as well as fill critical roles as a writer and a producer.

A message on his official LinkedIn page adds: “I worked for nearly 20 years at Rockstar Games as a Director, Producer and Writer for history-making franchises Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Bully, Max Payne, Midnight Club and more.

“I was co-chair of the Rockstar Games Production department and was responsible for in-game creative audio and video content, working directly for and writing with Rockstar co-founder and Head of Creative Dan Houser.”

More news regarding GTA 6 is expected to be shared by Rockstar Games, but it seems unlikely to happen until after the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V has released on PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles.
