Guild Esports PLC (LSE:GILD, OTC:GULDF) announced the signing of Lennard Sill, who plays under the “Rezon” moniker, as the newest member of its Fortnite team.
He is a 17-time Fortnite tournament winner who has taken over US$300,000 in winnings.
“Rezon has a proven track record as one of the most talented Fortnite players in Europe and his addition to our tournament-winning team further cements Guild as a leader within the esport scene,” said Guild chief executive Kal Hourd.
The German gamer is a mainstay in the top 10 Fortnite Champion Series (FCS), with past results including third place in FCS Season 5 in March 2021, and fifth place in season 6 in May 2021 and Season 7 in September 2021.
Rezon joins the number two ranked Fortnite team in Europe on a one-year contract with an option to renew for another 12 months. He will be competing under the Guild banner in all upcoming Fortnite tournaments.
His first appearance will be this weekend in the FNCS: Grand Royale tournament where the prize money available for the European winners is US$2.5mln, which is the highest prize money paid in Fortnite competition this year.
Guild is the first professional esports organisation Rezon has joined, and he will be competing alongside Guild’s other top-ranked players, Henrik Mclean (‘Hen’), Anas El-Abd (‘Anas’) and Jannis Matwin (‘JannisZ’).
