Halo Infinite Will Get The Pit From Halo 3

Halo Infinite finally launched after a great deal of waiting and following the poor reception to Halo 5: Guardians, it had much to accomplish. The burden was not merely on the campaign but also on the multiplayer component of the famous sci-fi first-person shooter.

Halo has a legacy in multiplayer games that can not be denied, as its predecessors had a great part in the popularisation and progression of multiplayer first-person shooters. Thus, the burden on Halo Infinite was no small one but many issues plagued it. 

Along with the still prevalent horrible matchmaking issues that are plaguing the players, there are other complaints from the community as well, such as the lack of content, especially maps. Previous halo games had many iconic maps but Infinite seems to be lacking. this may change soon, however.

This was revealed only recently in today’s HCS stream. For those not aware, the Halo Championship Series is the official and premier eSports league created and maintained by 343 Industries.

The league establishes a standard for tournament rules and game type settings for use in official tournaments. 343 Industries originally collaborated with Electronic Sports League (ESL) to host tournaments but moved to their own event later on.

During today’s HCS stream, the developers officially revealed that the beloved map from the even more beloved game Halo 3, The Pit, would be making a return in Halo Infinite later on.

The official Twitter and YouTube account of HCS tweeted a video that shows snippets from previous Halo 3 matches, of historic moments in The Pit.

The video suddenly propels us down a rabbit hole of nostalgia and gives us a brief look at the map as it will appear in Halo Infinite.

Moreover, it was revealed in the stream that the map is made entirely in Halo Infinite’s iteration of the Forge, and is being made by the official developers. Moreover, it was also revealed that it will arrive shortly after the upcoming Winter Update for infinite, which is due to arrive in November.

Currently, we do not know whether this will just be a one-time thing or will more maps from previous Halo games be added as well in the future, but we certainly do hope that other maps also make it into the game officially.

Otherwise, there is always the fan community with their limitless creativity, combined with the now much-advanced Forge. This has led to the creation of many wonderful things such as a fan-made BR mode, the Lava level from Mario, or even a whole new boss.

A video posted on HCS’ official YouTube channel gives us a better look at the map through a flyover. However, it should be noted that the map is still a work in progress, and subject to changes throughout development.

This is certainly exciting news for all Halo fans, not just those of Halo Infinite or Halo 3. Moreso because today is a special day in Halo history. Today marks 15 years since Halo 3 was first released on September 25, 2007, on the Xbox 360.

To celebrate this momentous date, the official Halo Twitter account posted a montage video of moments from the critically acclaimed Halo 3.

Halo Infinite is not a small name in gaming, same as the Halo series is not unknown to many. Halo launched right alongside the first Xbox console among its first exclusives and took the world by storm. It quickly became one of the premier first-person shooters of the time, with its captivating story, likable characters, and thrilling gameplay.

With the release of Halo 2, Halo became a household name among console owners. Leveraging the newly launched Xbox Live services and online features of Xbox consoles, it was quickly propelled to stardom.

Not only was the gameplay vastly improved, but the story also was quite brilliant and enthralling, not to mention the multiplayer component garnering the most acclaim.

Halo 2 greatly contributed to the popularity of online console gaming but in particular, first-person shooting games. Subsequent Halo games also had their own contributions that made them great games. As such, Halo Infinite has a lot to accomplish. We sincerely hope that 343 Industries works hard and delivers with this game.
