Hell Let Loose Night Maps Update Coming To PS5 & Xbox This Week

Console players will finally get to experience Hell Let Loose’s Falling Dark update soon, with an official release date for Remagen now confirmed.

The roadmap for Hell Let Loose took another step forward today, with developer Black Matter revealing that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players will finally get to experience the Falling Dark update later this week. Hell Let Loose has seen a number of updates drop over the last year, with Black Matter promising new factions and maps in a roadmap released in 2021. Among these anticipated additions to Hell Let Loose is the British Forces update, which is slated to release either later this year or in early 2023.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Although initially released on PC, Hell Let Loose got its official console launch in 2021 and quickly carved out a niche as a compelling, historically-accurate WW2 shooter. D-Day operations were the main focus to begin with, with players taking on the role of either the U.S. Armed Forces or the German Wehrmacht in various maps situated in the French and Belgian countryside. Black Matter later expanded this with the introduction of the Eastern Front update, which introduced the Red Army as a faction and new maps based on the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk. Console players had to wait a little longer to receive this update – as was the case with Hell Let Loose‘s night maps update, Falling Dark – with Black Matter aiming to achieve parity between platforms by the end of 2022.

Although Black Matter is yet to confirm whether the console version of Hell Let Loose has now achieved parity with its PC sibling, players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will finally get to experience the Falling Dark update when it drops on consoles tomorrow, September 21. As revealed on the official Hell Let Loose Twitter, this new update will see the introduction of Remagen, night variants of pre-existing maps like Foy, as well as new Commander abilities, such as being able to call in a precision bombing strike or ammo crate for friendly troops. Although playable on PC since July, the release of this new Hell Let Loose update on PS5 and Xbox should hopefully signal the final steps toward the end of staggered updates, with focus now switching to some of the other promised features teased in the game’s official roadmap.

Hell Let Loose Updates – What’s Still To Come In 2022

Although not as significant as the earlier Eastern Front update, the Falling Dark update for Hell Let Loose introduces a significant amount of content, putting a fresh nighttime spin on familiar maps while also introducing a new location in Remagen, which saw the Allies desperately try to take the Ludendorff Bridge while breaking into Germany. It’s unclear what will be coming next – a number of new additions are listed on the official roadmap, including flamethrowers and new cosmetics, but Black Matter is yet to reveal specifics. The introduction of the British Forces faction – frequently spotlighted in other WW2 FPS games in the CoD and Battlefield franchises – is arguably the most anticipated addition, but information on how it will work or if a new theater like North Africa may be introduced is still unclear.

While Hell Let Loose has had a relatively quieter year compared to 2021 – which saw its official release on consoles and the introduction of the Eastern Front update on PC – Falling Dark’s arrival on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S should hopefully lead to a strong end to 2022. The console version of the game will now benefit from a fresh injection of content, and with it now having caught up with PC, this should hopefully mean that future Hell Let Loose updates will be enjoyed by all players in a much closer timeframe.
