High school football state championship games return to Jackson

The Mississippi High School football state title games are returning to the Metro in 2021 at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium.

This will be the second straight year the six MHSAA champions will be decided at the home of Jackson State, following two years in Hattiesburg and four years alternating between Starkville and Oxford prior to that.

Last year, the Poplarville Hornets were the only team representing the six coastal counties, finishing as the 4A runners up in a 15-14 loss to Louisville.
