It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s time for another Fortnite update. Today, March 1, 2022, Epic Games will roll out the latest patch, v19.40. According to leakers like Shiina and TigerHyper, while this isn’t a massive new update, there still could be some great new additions coming to Fortnite. So how big is the patch and how long will today’s Fortnite downtime last? Let’s look into it.
Is Fortnite down right now?
Fortnite matchmaking was disabled at around 12:50am PST/3:50:am EST/8:50am GMT on March 1, 2022, in preparation for the latest Fortnite patch. Fortnite servers will be completely down approximately ten minutes later for today’s scheduled maintenance.
How long will Fortnite downtime last?
While we’re not sure yet how long this Fortnite downtime will last, these Tuesday patches often last between one and two hours. As v19.40 isn’t expected to be particularly large, hopefully Fortnite servers will be back online by about 3am PST/6am EST/11am GMT, if not sooner. We’ll update you as soon as we know more.
What will be new in Fortnite today?
It’s usually safe to take a look towards reliable Fortnite leakers such as ShiinaBR, iFireMonkey and TigerHyper ahead of these updates to get an idea of what’s to come. This week, we’re expecting a brand-new Spider-Man Outfit, as Epic previously promised multiple Spider-Man appearances over the course of the season. Epic Games have also used the tagline “Prepare to Swing into the v19.40 update”, which heavily suggests new Spidey content.
According to ShiinaBR, there is also likely to be a new “Wild Week” announcement, following the end of the Bownanza event. Wild Weeks make the most of items from the natural environment, such as fire and foraged consumables, and started in the Fortnite Primal season.
As soon as the new Fortnite update is live and server downtime has ended, we’ll be sure to let you know all the latest Fortnite patch notes for v19.40.
