The next rendition of the Xbox UI appears online and showcases a new sleek design that changes game and app libraries.
Xbox has gone through many different interfaces in recent years as the platform attempts to evolve into a seamless gaming hub. The changes have ranged from subtle updates to the Home page to complete overhauls of the Xbox ecosystem. As Xbox Game Pass has grown into a more substantial service, however, and as the platform begins to move to other mediums, fans have been speculating about another potential update. Now, reports are beginning to circulate showing a new UI that changes up the basics of the Xbox games library.
The new Xbox user interface features some simple changes to the library that players will likely find helpful. The image that has been circulating shows a new table labeled Full Library, which itself includes a few new categories for organizational purposes. These are things like All Games, Owned Games, Owned Apps, Xbox Game Pass, and more. EA Play gets its own tab for games like Battlefield 2042, and some fans are speculating that this new design may be used in an attempt to implement a system to easily access games from studios partnered with Xbox.
The impending interface update should not be surprising to players. With the prospect of changes to Xbox Game Pass, and with Xbox Cloud Gaming added into the mix, it seems logical for the Xbox Team to pursue different avenues for the platform’s UI. This new look seems like an aim to make navigating the console simpler for players than it ever has been before.
This new UI image comes at a time when Xbox fans are thoroughly interested in the future of the platform. With Bethesda’s upcoming Starfield, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and other anticipated games promised to appear first on Microsoft’s gaming ecosystem, now is a great time to be an Xbox fan. While it is unclear whether the update to the Xbox UI will be a success, it is certainly good to see the gaming giant working on ways to cultivate an amazing experience from start to finish.
Indeed, the Xbox Team has been working tirelessly to reward its fans. The recent Xbox End of Summer sale allowed players to purchase popular and quality games at great prices, with hundreds of titles available at discounted rates. With this new information about a potential update to the Xbox platform, fans can find solace in the fact that the console will likely continue to be a great place to play in the years to come.
