Indie RPG Sea Of Stars Has Been Delayed To Next Year

Highly-anticipated Chrono Trigger-inspired RPG Sea of Stars has been delayed, Sabotage Studios has announced (thanks, Gematsu!)

Sabotage shared the message on its Discord and on Twitter. Sea of Stars is a spiritual prequel to the studio’s previous game, the platformer The Messenger. While this delay will no doubt be disappointing news for RPG fans out there, we’re also sure many of us are excited and happy to wait just a bit longer.

Here’s the message from the team behind Sea of Stars in full:

A Word from the Team

As we are closing in on a very big milestone the road to launch becomes clearer, and we find ourselves here with a large body of text and our logos at the bottom. Keeping in mind our two main priorities—quality of life for our team and quality of the finished game—we can now confirm that Sea of Stars will be released in 2023.

We understand waiting is a big ask, and want to sincerely thank our community for the overwhelming support and positive vibes. In the meantime, we are looking at options to get a playable slice out to everyone this year

All the love,
Saboteam

Fortunately, the developers want to get “a playable slice” out for everyone sometime this year, so hopefully, we’ll have a demo on the horizon before the year closes out. But we’re ready and waiting patiently for this fantastic-looking game.

How do you feel about the delay? Let us know in the comments.
