This year we’ve been introduced to FPS Boost, which is a fantastic feature from the backwards compatibility team at Xbox. Through their magic, they’ve managed to increase the frame rate on a ton of older generation games, and the results have been nothing less than fantastic. As always with new features though, we always want more, so this tease of more FPS Boosts coming “very soon” has got us extremely interested.
In yesterday’s GamesBeat Live 2021 Twitch stream, one eagle eyed XboxEra forum member spotted a passing comment from The Verge’s Tom Warren. In his comment, he teased that “more FPS Boost games are coming v.soon”. The interesting part is the reference to them being very soon, when we’ve only just received a massive drop of EA titles. Sounds like Xbox has no intention of slowing down.
Outside of last week’s EA Play titles, we recently had a bunch of Bethesda games added into the FPS Boost mix. The results have been impressive, with titles such as Fallout 4 getting a much needed boost to their frame rates. If there’s more on the way, we’ll happily take them all, as this is proving to be a fantastic perk for Xbox Series X|S owners.
