Dragon Ball The Breakers launches very soon, and it’s a fun multiplayer experience although some fans are concerned about its lack of crossplay and cross platform multiplayer.
Dragon Ball fans were able to enjoy an open beta back in September, but the full release is not free to play unlike said demo. It costs £15.99 to enjoy, but there is a £24.99 special edition available to buy for some neat bonuses and rewards.
It’s available on all platforms but you cannot matchmake with or against friends on different systems.
Is Dragon Ball The Breakers crossplay?
Dragon Ball The Breakers is not crossplay and thus does not support cross platform multiplayer between PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
The developers have been asked whether the feature could be added, but producer Ryosuke Hara told Siliconera back in January that ‘there is no plan to support cross-platform and cross-save at the moment’. Nothing has changed since that interview.
Multiplayer between console families PS4 and PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S, is supported, but you simply cannot play against people on other systems. This means PlayStation users cannot matchmake with Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch, and vice versa.
The inability to matchmake against other systems is a real concern for some fans. As seen on Reddit, there were complaints about wait times during the most recent last-minute trial.
