Is Scorn coming to PS5? Why it’s an Xbox exclusive

The long-awaited Scorn has finally released on Xbox and PC with Sony players left wondering if it is ever coming to PS5.

Whether on Xbox or PC, players can enjoy Scorn by joining Xbox Game Pass. A Game Pass subscription is available for £7.99 a month, or you can get an Ultimate subscription at £10.99 a month for Xbox Live Gold and a free EA Play membership on console.

While PC and Xbox console players are able to enjoy the game’s creepy atmosphere today, Sony loyalists are not so lucky.

Will Scorn come to PS5?

Scorn is not coming to PS5 and a post-launch release for Sony’s system hasn’t been suggested.

As of October 14th, the game is purely exclusive to Xbox Series X/S for console. The horror game was first revealed as next-gen Microsoft console exclusive back in 2020, but it’s finally come out following delays.

If you are on PC, you can enjoy the horror via Steam. It is also available on the Epic Games store.

Why it is an Xbox exclusive

Ebb Software has explained why they partnered with Microsoft to make Scorn a console exclusive for Xbox Series X/S.

Back in 2020, a Steam Q&A post provided the following explanation for why it is exclusive to Xbox Series X/S for console:

‘Before deciding to partner with Microsoft we made sure that they will not have any influence over the game’s concept and development process. They were more than cooperative in that regard. The only thing they were interested in was exclusivity rights.

Once all that was agreed upon it was a no brainer decision when you look at all the benefits Scorn will get from this partnership, from additional resources to much bigger exposure(marketing). It will certainly help us make Scorn a better, polished game in the end.’
