Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time appears to be coming to Steam on October 18th. The news was revealed by YouTuber Canadian Guy Eh, who received a special package from Toys For Bob, confirming the release date.
A pizza box from a made-up company called “Aku Aku’s Steam-In Pizza Shack” was delivered to the YouTuber, featuring a receipt which read “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is coming to Steam October 18th”. Toys For Bob and Activision are yet to make the announcement on any of their social media accounts, and the store page for the game has yet to go live on Steam.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in October 2020. A current-gen version was subsequently released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March of 2021, as well as a Nintendo Switch version. A few weeks later, Crash Bandicoot 4 came to PC via Activision’s Battle Net launcher.
It wouldn’t come as too much of a surprise if Crash Bandicoot 4 was released on Steam, as it wouldn’t be the first Crash game to arrive on the platform. Back in 2018, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was released on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, a year after it arrived for the PlayStation 4.
The package sent out to influencers didn’t just tease the arrival of Crash Bandicoot 4 on Steam though, as the bottom of the receipt read, “Hungry for more? Try our new Wumpa pizza for $12.08”. For those that might be scratching their heads, The Game Awards are set to take place on December 8th (12/8), which many have taken to suggest a new Crash game is going to be announced at the awards show.
The Game Awards kicks off on December 8th and will be hosted by Geoff Keighley. There’s expected to be plenty of huge announcements from names across the industry, and will also be the first time in 3 years that the public can purchase tickets for the event.
