Latest GameStop PS5 Restock Lasts Until the End of the Week

GameStop’s latest PlayStation 5 restock lasts longer than usual, with customers having until the end of the week to try to get a console.

GameStop‘s latest PlayStation 5 console restock lasts until Saturday, October 15 for those signed up with the company’s PowerUp Rewards Pro program, while general customers can try their hand at buying a console on Sunday, October 16. GameStop’s PS5 restock events usually only last a day or two, so this latest event lasting for a week could be a big indicator that PS5 supply issues are finally improving.

PS5 supply issues have been a problem since Sony’s new console launched in November 2020. Chip shortages, scalpers, the COVID-19 pandemic, and a variety of other issues have made it extremely difficult for gamers to get their hands on the console. Many gamers have had to resort to signing up for programs like GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro, which gives them a greater chance at actually buying a console for their own.

As previously stated, GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro members have until Saturday, October 15 to try their hand at getting a PS5 console bundle through their local store, while general GameStop customers can try to buy one on Sunday, October 16. Supplies will be limited, of course, and GameStop customers won’t be able to purchase an individual console. It seems as though this latest restock is limited to PS5 console bundles, as is the case with most GameStop restocks. Bundle contents will likely vary by store, so those interested should call their local GameStops to find out exactly what they have in stock, if anything at all.

Even though GameStop is promoting this latest PS5 restock as taking place all week, it doesn’t mean that the supply will last that long. In fact, it’s entirely possibly and very likely that PS5 consoles have already sold out at many GameStop locations participating in this restock. Still, the fact that GameStop decided to call this a week-long PS5 restock is an encouraging sign that the console’s supply problems may finally be reaching a turning point.

Sony has said it is ramping up PS5 console production, and this is clear evidence that it wasn’t bluffing. With the holiday season coming up, it makes sense for Sony to do whatever it can to dramatically increase PS5 console supply. With the blockbuster game God of War Ragnarok set to launch next month, Sony knows it has a huge opportunity to sell a ton more PS5 consoles, and it will be interesting to see if it’s able to produce enough supply to meet demand.
