Bloodwash, a creepy “laundry” horror game that first released for PC last year, is finally making its way to consoles. With Halloween right around the corner, holiday enthusiasts may be looking for a new horror game to play. There are plenty of solid horror games that have released this year already and more to look forward to between now and Halloween.
Bloodwash may be a solid pick for those on Switch and Xbox that need a new horror game to play. For those who are unfamiliar with the game, Bloodwash is “giallo-inspired laundry horror game” about a pregnant college student named Sara who goes to a laundromat late at night. A serial killer named The Womb Ripper, who specifically targets pregnant women, is active in Sara’s city the night she visits the laundromat, and that provides the disturbing backdrop for the rest of the game.
Bloodwash is a genuinely scary game, and it should prove to be a solid pick for console gamers that need a new horror game to play this Halloween season. Bloodwash was positively received by horror fans when it launched on PC last year, so chances are good the console port will be popular with genre fans as well. The Xbox and Switch release date for Bloodwash is currently scheduled for Wednesday, October 12, with the game priced at a mere $9.99.
The tweet confirming Bloodwash‘s Switch and Xbox release dates made no mention of PlayStation consoles, unfortunately. A PlayStation Store page for Bloodwash exists, but it doesn’t list any kind of release date. It’s possible PlayStation gamers will have to wait a bit longer to play Bloodwash on their consoles of choice, but clarification on the matter has yet to be provided at the time of this writing.
In the meantime, those who are interested in Bloodwash may want to check out some of the other games made by developer Puppet Combo. Puppet Combo has built a reputation for itself as one of the premiere forces in indie horror game development, creating a variety of games with PS1-style graphics and 80s-horror inspirations. Some of Puppet Combo’s most popular work includes Murder House, Babysitter Bloodbath, and The Night Ripper, so horror fans may want to start there if they decide to check out the developer’s library of games while waiting to check out the console version of Bloodwash.
Bloodwash is available now for PC with Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X versions launching October 12.
