Recent online listings for a couple of major Nintendo releases have the rumor mill abuzz and fans wondering if we’ll be getting official news from Nintendo sometime soon.
A release of a Nintendo Switch Pro seems almost inevitable at this point and more if a “when” than an “if,” but there’s been no substantial news from Nintendo on this subject and nothing more than supposed leaks and guesses as to what we could expect from an upgraded version of the console. However, the most recent incident that has people speculating anew is a product listing on Amazon Mexico for “New Nintendo Switch Pro” that has since been removed from the site.
Similarly, a listing for Metroid Prime 4 was spotted on Walmart Canada. While the listing isn’t brand new and has been on the site for some time, users noticed that the game’s release date in the listing has been updated to December 31, 2021. Not a bombshell revelation by any means, but it does suggest that perhaps Walmart Canada got some sort of information from Nintendo that the game could be launching sometime this year. Metroid Prime 4 has been in a strange state of limbo: the game was first announced during E3 2017, but Nintendo then stated in January 2019 that it was being delayed and there’s been no other news on it since.
Should we keep getting our hopes up on finally hearing something about either a Switch Pro or Metroid Prime 4 at this year’s E3, or should we continue to expect silence from Nintendo? What do you think we’ll hear from Nintendo at E3? Let us know below.
