Some time ago, League of Legends has had a bug with the turret attacks not
scaling as they should. And while it has not been resolved, a new one has also
popped up.
While towers are not a new creation of
Riot Games
and they have existed in DotA far before
League of Legends
, the way they deal damage differs greatly from DotA. With every tower hit, for three consecutive tower shots, their damage is supposed to ramp up by 40%.
That was precisely
the bug that the game had
a few patches ago, which could have threatened Worlds 2022. Luckily it did not, but a new on has appeared.
It has been discovered by the famous bug connoisseur, Vandril in a match between Fnatic and EDG. In a tower dive performed by Fnatic, Hylissang sacrificed himself so his team could clean up the kills.
However, the bug appeared due to his usage of the Ignite Summoner Spell, it would appear.
After his death, even though the dive contained and his allies dealt damage to the enemy, the turren never re-aggroed anyone, and dealt no damage, however short it would have been.
This is due to Ignite staying on the champion, while the one who cast it is dead, it seems, and the turret is unable to target the one doing continuous damage, as they’ve already died.
As far as bugs go, this one is easy to replicate and can be abused heavily for stress-free dives. Especially in games where the advantage from dives is used far better than in the usual SoloQ games.
