A top NA East competitor becomes G2’s newest Fortnite player.
G2 Esports is on a run unlike any other esports brand in competitive Fortnite Battle Royale. Toward the end of 2020, G2 revived their stagnant roster by adding FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 3 Champion Sean “Coop” Cooper. It was a sign of life for an organization that seemed unsure of its Fortnite in Fortnite. After the Coop signing, Founder and CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez Santiago picked up top controller player Kevin “LeTsHe” Fedjuschkin, Jack “Jahq” Downs and Zach “Smqcked” Ebersole. It was a complete 180 from the organization, who then grabbed top Mexican competitor Jesus “Jelty” Navarez Espinoza.
Ocelote and company were quietly building a formidable roster filled with insanely talented players. The acquisition phase went cold, but G2 then announced the addition of one of North America’s best ahead of this season’s FNCS Grand Finals. Former Team SoloMid member Mack “MackWood” Aesoph is the newest member of the G2 Army.

G2’s always entertaining social media team did not disappoint with their latest Fortnite reveal. Yesterday, Ocelote tweeted, “I want a goat,” in response to the organization’s recognition of fan pet pictures. It took only one day to find said GOAT, which came in the form of an FNCS Champion and Fortnite World Cup Finalist. MackWood, who previously spent time with Complexity, got axed from TSM after they terminated their Fortnite roster. He’s the latest shoe to drop in what is becoming a standout squad in the scene.
One of the Best
MackWood’s track record since placing 16th at the Fortnite World Cup speaks for itself. He won the first-ever Fortnite Champion Series in Season X alongside teammates ZexRow and Yung Calc. These parlayed that performance into a runner-up finish in FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 1 after adding Vinny1x to complete their squad. MackWood then reached the Grand Finals in two of the following four FNCS competitions. He’s currently part of one of this season’s top trios, including Khanada and Bucke, who are favorites to win the tournament.
The G2 Army will be watching eagerly in hopes of MackWood claiming the organization’s first major Fortnite title.
