Firaxis Games and 2K have released a brand new trailer for their turn-based fighting game, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, showcasing previously spotted Blade’s powers and cards, which are based on his bleed damage and chain attacks that players can utilize in long-running skirmishes. It looks like Blade will be a frontline attacker with the help of his versatile moveset.
Blade is one of the founding members of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, helping The Hunter on her way to defeat the evil mother, Lilith. An introduction trailer for Blade was unveiled a couple of days ago, providing more information about his story background based on his mother being slaughtered by a vampire bite. Now, the developer team has dropped another trailer dedicated to the beloved character, revealing cards and powers that could be effective against high-health enemies. As seen in the trailer below, the base premise of Blade, also known as Eric Brooks, is his ability to make enemies suffer from bleeding every turn.
Going into more detail, half-human vampire Blade has an efficient moveset against high-heal enemies, allowing him to combine his bleed ability with chain attacks to deal extra damage. First off, Blade’s essential card will be “Make Them Bleed,” which deals damage at the end of every turn. It also ignores resist and block effects, making it an inevitable attack that can be combined with the following cards when upgraded. As a distinct feature for the upcoming strategy game, players can build a friendship with Blade to get a 10 percent chance of applying bleed damage when they are together with friendly characters.
Blade’s “The Hunger” ability applies two marks to every unit with bleed, allowing players to recover 26 health from each enemy. The developer team recommended players combine this ability with “Daywalker,” which makes sequential chain attacks on three enemies. Lastly, his golden heroic ability, Glaive, damages and applies two bleeds to each enemy in a lengthy area. It ignores resist and block like his other abilities, consuming four heroism, which is acceptable for a legendary card.
In other Marvel’s Midnight Suns news, developer Firaxis has already revealed The Hunter and Magik as two of the protagonists for the storyline. The roster of playable heroes in the game also includes Spider-man, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, and Wolverine. Marvel’s Midnight Suns Will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC on December 2.
