Following the gameplay reveal of Blade last week, developer Firaxis Games has dropped another teaser trailer for the upcoming strategy game, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, showcasing Nico Minoru in action against a group of enemies.
The introduction trailer for Nico Minoru gives a brief look at her capabilities stemming from the Staff of One, a deadly weapon that allows her to unleash the power within. It also enables Nico to deliver her magical power in a multitude of ways.
As seen in the trailer, Nico Minoru will likely have a versatile skill set based on magic and spells, dealing damage to each enemy in an area. Despite the fact that Firaxis did not reveal much about Nico Minoru’s abilities, it is safe to assume that, unlike Blade and The Hunter, she will be most effective against large groups of enemies.
One of the obscure characters in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Nico Minoru, will likely offer unique gameplay thanks to her Staff of One weapon that includes chaotic magic, making it unpredictable for her enemies. Nico can fly and control her power once her signature weapon is charged with energy. Furthermore, the fact that Nico Minoru excels at dark magic suggests that her skill set will include healing effects for teammates.
As for her story background, Nico Minoru has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since debuting in Runaways back in 2003. She is the daughter of dark wizards, utilizing the Staff of One to bend magic. She is used to conjuring up magical energy with the aid of her parents, who were members of the villainous organization, The Pride. After running away from her parents, Nico established a new life for herself, learning how to control her powers so as not to harm an ally.
In other Marvel’s Midnight Suns news, the creators have already released a gameplay trailer for each heroine, such as The Hunter, Magik, Blade, and Captain America. The roster of playable characters also features the fan-favorite Spider-Man and Wolverine.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns will launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on December 2nd.
