In a world of constant game delays, many have worried whether Mass Effect Legendary Edition would be the next for the chopping block. But it doesn’t seem that way, as the game has gone gold ahead of its May 14 release.

Mac Walters, the project director on the game, confirmed the news on Twitter. For those that don’t know, going gold means development on the base game has finished, although it doesn’t incorporate extras like day one patches. We don’t know about you, but we’re excited to know we’ll be getting our hands on the game in just a few short weeks.

A 10-minute video of the game in action was released earlier this week and displayed the changes between the original and the remaster. It seems a lot of work has gone into bringing this to life, and it’s looking to be the definitive way to play the Mass Effect trilogy. It’s also available to pre-order right now on the Microsoft Store.
