As Metal: Hellsinger’s launch swiftly approaches, publisher Funcom and developer The Outsiders have confirmed that the rhythm FPS will receive custom music modding support on PC.
Although the announcement didn’t come paired with a great many details about the feature, the Twitter post does include the following slogan: “Unleash Hell. To YOUR beat.” This could suggest that custom music modding support will allow us to import our own tracks into Metal: Hellsinger.
Responding to Twitter user ShatroGames, who asked if the feature will be limited to synchronizing one’s chosen tracks to a 4/4 beat, the game’s official account replied by saying that more details are coming “soon.”
Metal: Hellsinger’s rhythm-based gameplay does rely heavily on the widely-used time signature, and it’ll certainly be interesting to see if the developer might find a way to have polyrhythmic songs synchronize properly with the action.
Of course, it’s also great to hear that we will be able to decimate demons to the sound of our own favorite songs, even if the game’s soundtrack is pretty damn stellar already.
Hopefully, it won’t take too long before the developer shares specifics about Metal: Hellsinger’s custom music modding support.
After spending the last week slashing and shooting my way through Hell for our review, I found that Metal: Hellsinger is one of the most intense games of 2022 and a title you should definitely consider checking out, especially if you’re into first-person shooters and metal music.
