Mordhau coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One

The multiplayer hack-and-slash PC game Mordhau is finally getting a console release. Developer Triternion has announced that Mordhau will launch for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4 soon.

As revealed via a very brief announcement trailer, Mordhau is “coming soon” to consoles, including Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Unfortunately, a specific release date was not given. If you’re unfamiliar with Mordhau, it’s a medieval multiplayer hack-and-slash game that launched on Steam back in 2019, following a successful Kickstarter campaign. Using a variety of different medieval weapons, including longswords, spears, and crossbows, you will battle against others in game modes that can feature up to 64 players, which can get both extremely hectic and extremely bloody. Of course, Mordhau is similar to the Chivalry games, but there are some subtle differences when it comes to combat that leads Mordhau to feel a bit more tactical and challenging.

Over on Steam, Mordhau currently sits with a ‘Very Positive’ rating from over 80,000 reviews. With Chivalry 2 firmly established on Xbox, it will be interesting to see if Mordhau can make a dent in the armour of Torn Banner Studios’ slasher.

What do you make of Mordhau? Will you be checking this one out when it comes to Xbox? Let us know down in the comments!
