Need for Speed Unbound reveal imminent, no Xbox One version – report

Need for Speed Unbound could be revealed within the next two weeks, according to a recent report, and it’s said the racing game will be skipping Xbox One and releasing only on current-gen consoles and PC.

Reputable industry insider Tom Henderson (via InsiderGaming) has said that sources claim a reveal for Need for Speed Unbound could be held sometime in the next two weeks ahead of its Xbox Series X|S launch on December 2nd, 2022. As with all leaks, though, we suggest taking this with a pinch of salt until EA says something about it officially.

Need for Speed Unbound will reportedly skip last-generation consoles

According to Henderson, Criterion has prepared a two-to-three-minute trailer featuring a track from the American rapper A$AP Rocky for its latest series entry, Need for Speed Unbound. Earlier this year, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb said that he’d heard the game will be current-gen only, which Henderson has corroborated.

Henderson’s previous report on the game said that Need for Speed Unbound will have a large focus on multiplayer and feature something called ‘meetups;’ PvP races that take place in varying locations on the game’s “unique maps”. We can apparently expect to see anime elements, as well as “fire, smoke, [and] flames, etc, [which] will all appear from the car as you drift, jump, and crash.”

Earlier this week, Henderson reported that Disney plans on releasing two Star War games a year going forward. If you’d like more EA games in your life, why not check out our list of favourite EA Play titles available with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership?
