Work in progress footage on the next chapter in the Need for Speed franchise has allegedly leaked via Reddit, which showcases some snazzy visual effects that tie in with previous reports that the game will combine photo-realistic graphics with anime-style effects.
While EA has confirmed that the new Need for Speed will launch in the fourth quarter of 2022, Jeff Grubb is reporting that the publisher has moved the date from November to December internally. You may recall that Tom Henderson suggested the game would launch on November 4.

Development of the Need for Speed franchise has been handed back to Criterion Games, having decided instead to restructure previous series developer Ghost Games. Codemasters Cheshire was also merged with Criterion to work on Need for Speed going forward.
The new Need for Speed game has yet to attract an official release date at this point, and will presumably launch for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
