While it’s been a pretty slow summer for both Xbox and PlayStation, the Nintendo Switch has been crushing it with new game releases. Last month, Switch owners were treated to two gems in Live A Live and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. But after months of spoiling us, things are finally slowing down in August. Well, sort of.
Nintendo is lacking a big exclusive release next month, but there are plenty of third-party titles and indie games coming to the platform. Take a look at some of the games coming to the Nintendo Switch in August 2022.
- Frogun – August 2
- South of the Circle – August 3
- Hindsight – August 4
- Massage Freaks – August 4
- Tyrant’s Blessing – August 8
- Two Point Campus – August 9
- Lost in Play – August 10
- Cleo – A Pirate’s Tale – August 10
- Arcade Paradise – August 11
- Cult of the Lamb – August 11
- Super Bullet Break – August 12
- Tribes of Midgard – August 16
- Cursed to Golf – August 18
- RPG Time! The Legend of Wright – August 18
- Slaycation Paradise – August 18
- Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? – August 23
- Midnight Flight Express – August 23
- Yars: Recharged – August 23
- Monster Outbreak – August 25
- SD Gundam Battle Alliance – August 25
- Pac Man World Re-Pac – August 26
- Dusk Diver 2 – August 30
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection – August 30
There are quite a few titles worth keeping an eye on in August, including Tribes of Midgard, a co-op game that blends action, survival and roguelite elements, and TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection, a bundle of 13 classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games from Konami.
Unfortunately, two of August’s biggest games, Madden NFL 23 and Saints Row, aren’t coming to the Nintendo Switch. But honestly, this little lull in blockbuster releases for the Switch is a welcomed one. We’re right on the heels of the release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the massive action role-playing game from Monolith Soft. With August being a slow period, you’ll hopefully find time to make your way through this gorgeous game.
And hopefully, you do so before September because guess what… that’s when Splatoon 3 launches for the Nintendo Switch. Then we’ve got Bayonetta 3 in October followed by Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet in November. So yeah, enjoy this slow period because there’s a lot more coming to the Nintendo Switch this holiday season.
