New Nintendo Switch releases (June 28-July 3, 2021) – Thumbsticks

Sky: Children of Light and Doki Doki Literature Club Plus! top this week’s lineup of new Nintendo Switch eShop releases.

Sky: Children of Light felt like a perfect fit for the Nintendo Switch from the day it was revealed. Thatgamecompany’s artistic adventure instead made its debut on iOS, where it won acclaim from all quarters. It’s not quite as majestic as Journey, nor a pure as Flower, but it is absolutely worth playing, especially now that it supports standard controls in addition to touchscreen inputs.

Another recommended release is Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!, the polished update of Team Salvato’s post-modern visual novel. It’s a very clever game that we won’t spoil here. Come for the romance and poetry, but be prepared to have your brain fried.

Other new Nintendo Switch eShop releases include Destroy All Humans!, Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny – which is looking quite rough, unfortunately – and Blasphemous Deluxe Edition.

And finally, Andrade Games makes good on its long-standing promise to bring SturmFront – The Mutant War: Übel Edition to the Nintendo Wii U. Bravo!
