New Nintendo Switch releases (May 3-8, 2021) – Thumbsticks

More than 20 new video games are coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop this week.

It’s not a stellar lineup – there’s no Resident Evil Village to look forward to on Switch, unfortunately – but a couple of new releases stand out.

Skate City from Agens and Room8 is the latest game in the resurgent skateboard simulation genre. The game features the usual selection of flip tricks, manuals, and grinds to master, plus an eye-catching ‘magic hour’ visual treatment.

The Colonists also comes to Switch this week. Codebyfire’s cute robot settlement building game was first released on PC in 2018, but it should be a good fit for consoles. It’s full-featured, challenging, and the perfect pastime for players who get a kick out of planning, organising, and strategic efficiency.

Other new Nintendo Switch releases include Nongunz: Doppelganger Edition and Raiden IV x MIKADO remix. Sports fans should also check out Football Drama, the tongue-in-cheek sim that blends football strategy and soap opera.

Here’s the full eShop lineup for the week ahead. We’ll update this post if we get news of any late additions.
