New PS5 and PS4 games releasing in June 2022

Like the Xbox, there’s not a whole lot going on for PlayStation in June. There’s no big exclusive, although there’s a chance we hear about one during this week’s PlayStation State of Play (I’m looking at you God of War: Ragnarok).

As for this coming month though, the biggest game is probably Supermassive’s The Quarry, the spiritual successor to Until Dawn— another cinematic horror from Supermassive Games in which you took control of eight young adults trying to survive a horrific night on Blackwood Mountain.

Similarly, in The Quarry you will control the fates of nine camp counselors who are “plunged into an unpredictable night of horror” on the last night of their summer camp. Like Until Dawn, there are multiple branching story paths and the decisions you make will ultimately determine the fate of each character and how the horror unfolds.

You’ll also notice Fall Guys on the list. Mediatonic’s party royale actually made its debut as a PS Plus game back in August 2020 and became a smash hit. The game is going free-to-play in June, so if you missed out you’ll finally be able to jump in. Although the game is already playable on PS5, this is specifically a next-gen version coming in June.

Sonic Origins and Capcom Fighting Collection are two other games I want to make note of as they are bundles of previously released classics. Sonic Origins, in particular, is worth a look — especially with how popular the Blue Blur has become on the big screen. If you’re of the younger generation and enjoy the Sonic movies, this is your chance to experience the origins — a remastered collection featuring the beloved classics Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD.

Take a look at what’s coming to PlayStation 4 and 5 during the month of June:

  • Silt (PS4, PS5) – June 1
  • Five Memories of My Time with You (PS4) – June 3
  • Tour de France 22 (PS4, PS5) – June 9
  • Metal Max Xeno Reborn (PS4) – June 10
  • The Quarry (PS4, PS5) – June 10
  • Omori (PS4) – June 17
  • Shadowrun Trilogy  (PS4, PS5)- June 21
  • Fall Guys (PS5) – June 21
  • Sonic Origins (PS4, PS5) – June 23
  • AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative (PS4) – June 24
  • Capcom Fighting Collection (PS4, PS5) – June 24

Remember to tune in to PlayStation’s State of Play on June 2 for a look at some exciting reveals for PlayStation. Hopefully, we get a release date for God of War: Ragnarok.
