What’s new on the PlayStation Store this week? There’s a bit of everything, really: horror, romance, simulation, drama, action – and that’s just Persona 5 Royal for PS5.
This week’s new PS5 and PS4 games offer a wide variety for all tastes. The week starts strong with A Plague Tale: Requiem on PS5 – a stealth horror adventure that, at least according to our review, is worth a look, especially if you played and enjoyed the first game.
Too squeamish for rats? How about ghosts and ghouls? Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is a multiplayer-centric release that pits teams of Ghostbusters against a player-controlled ghost. Players taking on the role of the ghost must spook and scare their way through the game’s maps while scaring as many bystanders as possible. The Ghostbusters need to work together to capture the ghost, undo the chaos, and calm down those who’ve been spooked. While the intention is for players to team up and play together, you can still play solo with bots.
Persona 5 Royal breaks free from its PS4 shackles this week to release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. It’s massive news for the other platforms, but chances are if you’re interested in Persona 5 Royal, you’ve probably already played it on PS4. It’s still a highlight, and there will definitely be some double-dipping by the hardcore fans.
A blast from the past comes in the form of New Tales from the Borderlands. Rather than being developed by the original Tales from the Borderlands developer, Telltale Games, Gearbox Software has taken on development duties this time around. Fans of the original will no doubt be curious to see how the successor fares against the original. One thing is for sure – the Telltale Game’s engine won’t be causing any problems this time around.
