New PS5, PS4 Games Releasing This Week (September 26th

Tunic, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, and FIFA 23 are this week’s headline acts on the PlayStation Store.

A new week is upon us and that means a new update on the PlayStation Store. What new PS5 and PS4 games are releasing this week? Is it worth diving into the squirrel fund for a cheeky treat?

The headline act this week has to be EA’s final outing with the FIFA license. FIFA 23, which somehow managed to land on Xbox consoles in its entirety weeks before release, will be the last game released in the series under EA’s stewardship. Despite this, EA isn’t holding back; this year’s edition of the footy favorite features a revamped Career Mode, extensive tweaks to the game’s online suite, as well as a number of women’s football leagues being added to the game. About time, but will it continue when EA goes its own way with its non-FIFA branded soccer sim next year? We’ll have to wait and see.

RELATED: New Xbox Games Releasing This Week (September 26th – September 30th)Some other highlights this week include the latest Pathfinder game with Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous landing on consoles after being available on PC for over a year where the game has been critically lauded by fans, with many comparing the game to the old-school Baldur’s Gate.

Tunic is another game landing on PlayStation after a period of exclusivity elsewhere. The cute isometric adventure game that leans heavily on its Zelda influences has already been out on Xbox and PC since earlier this year. Now, PlayStation players will have the chance to see what all the fuss is about. It’s definitely worth a look if you have a taste for some wholesome adventuring.

If you’re cash-strapped this week and can’t spare the pennies for a new release, you might be in line for a next-gen freebie. My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure is getting a free PS5 upgrade this week, so if this one is already in your library (no lies, please) then you’ll get the next-gen version for free this Friday. That’s my weekend sorted.
