New PS5 System Software Update has been released

Sony rolled out PS5 system update22.02-06.00.01 as soon as possible, and it works fine, and does exactly what you expect, namely a good ol system performance improvement. However, in all honesty, players are likely to figure out what has happened when the shift happens. The previous update, released last month, was pretty significant and added a number of new features including gamelists, 1440p support, and more.

The new PS5 system update follows last weeks jailbreak.

In case you missed it, the pc in question was jailbroken last week about two years before the console started to launch, using a vulnerability known since the PS4 era. Though it hasn’t yet been a fully functioning jailbreak, hackers have made enough progress that its only a matter of time before they finally do what they have set out to do.

If this new system software update plugs the exploit, but in light of how lax Sony is when it comes to theWebkit vulnerability on the PS4, it is probably better if it is not that familiar with the users. For the uninitiated, the Webkit vulnerability gives kernel access to the user level.

Let us update your readers when/if we find out what todays PS5 system update does.
