New Switch Games Releasing This Week (October 17th

It’s a bumper week for new releases on the Nintendo Switch this week with more than 40 new games hitting the Nintendo eShop.

It’s a big week with a few standout titles, and without a doubt one of those will be Ubisoft’s Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, the sequel to Mario’s first X-COM-style adventure, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. While the game isn’t due out until later this week – Thursday, to be exact – the early reviews are already in and as expected, it’s another hit for Ubisoft and Nintendo.

RELATED: Nintendo Will Compensate Fans For Switch Sports DowntimeIf colorful worlds of whimsy and wonder don’t do it for you, then Asobo Studio’s stealthy horror is also releasing on Nintendo Switch this week. However, this isn’t one you’ll be able to pick up at retail, at least not on Nintendo Switch. If you want to play A Plague Tale: Requiem on Nintendo’s hybrid console, you’ll have to settle for the cloud version. Still, better than nothing, and according to our Jack Coleman and his A Plague Tale: Requiem review, it’s a worthy sequel that delivers the goods.

Of course, the big news for Persona fans is that Persona 5 Royal will finally be getting a much wider release, finally leaving its PS4 exclusivity in the past as it releases this week on Nintendo Switch, Xbox, PC, and PS5.
