New Xbox Series X|S releases (May 3-7, 2021) – Thumbsticks

Resident Evil Village and Dragon Quest Builders 2 headline next week’s lineup of new Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S releases.

Capcom’s blockbuster start to the year continues next week with Resident Evil Village. The game’s demo rollout is somewhat curious, but it has helped cement Alcina Dimitrescu as an iconic character long before release. Early word indicates the game continues the franchise’s recent strong run of form.

Our second pick is Dragon Quest Builders 2. Square Enix’s sandbox action RPG was a big hit on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation in 2019, and it’s a shame the Xbox release has taken so long. Its inclusion with Game Pass is welcome news.

Other new digital game store releases include Chroma QuaternionThe Wardrobe: Even Better Edition, and Dark Nights with Poe and Munro.

Here’s the full lineup of new games for the week ahead. We’ll update this post with any last-minute additions as they are confirmed. Happy gaming!
