Nintendo announced a new Fire Emblem game for Nintendo Switch

Various games were released during Nintendo Direct, one of which is a surprising sequel to the popular turn-based tactical RPG series, Fire Emblem. A sequel to Fire Emblem: Three Houses is called Fire Emblem Engage and features a new multi-colored character and a character who will fight alongside Marth, in the same line as previous Fire Emblem games.

The classic grid-based combat system that the series has been a success, but with the addition of a new hero summoning mechanic, was always the one of the many characters that is recognizable. The summonable heroes include all of the heroes of the Fire Emblem games, including Marth and Cecilia.

The story revolves around the protagonist with blue and blue hair, who wakes up after many years unaware of his surroundings.

From the announcement trailer, it seems that the protagonist belongs to a godsense dragon group; they need to together with other heroes to collect Emblem Rings and defeat the Fell Dragon before he will complete the task.

Rings will play an integral role in the bonding of women as well as in summoning heroes like Marth.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses was one of the best games of 2019, thanks to the narrative-style storylines and to the novel storytelling experience. The relationships matter in the Fire Emblem series. In the announcement trailer we observe massive graphic improvements, but still not sure whether the game can be played as well as the usual expectations, such as balancing the staple combat mechanic and the storyboard coming from Three Houses.

Fire Emblem Engage has their iconic style on grid-based slack.

The standard version of Fire Emblem Engage is scheduled to be released on January 20, 2023. Moreover, players can also order a Divine Edition with a bunch of collectible items for long-time dedicated fans. You can pre-order the standard version, but you can’t currently order the Divine Edition, so it’s likely that it’ll go live for up to 2023.

The Divine Edition is full of A1-sized posters, art cards, steel books, game cards and art books.
