The holidays are a joyful time of the year as everyone looks ahead to take some time off their busy lives and spend time doing things they love. For this, companies make sure to add new updates, products, and events to keep the community busy.
While this works for every industry, gaming companies look ahead to drop new games/ update the existing ones for fans to sit back and enjoy. And with Halloween approaching in the following weeks, gaming franchises have decided to add a spooky flair to their titles.
Nintendo adds fresh courses for Mario Kart Tour ahead of Halloween update but disappoints fans
Mario Kart Tour is one of Nintendo’s most loved games, as fans can access it through their smartphones. The idea behind developing the game was to let more Nintendo fans play with their favorite character, Mario, despite not having a Nintendo console.
DIVE DEEPER
Nintendo’s mobile game picked up pace right from the start, clocking over two million players in 2019-20. Fans were quite happy with the game’s condition as the franchise kept adding updates regularly. While it was going all well until the last update, fans did not approve of the latest one.
As a gift for Halloween, the Japanese giant added a new course, GBA Boo Lake! The idea behind this track was to design a pier floating atop a murky lake with a spooky outlook on the environment. The Japanese gaming company posted the update on its latest Twitter post, making the news public. However, it looked like fans were not as happy as expected, as the majority of them expected more.

You just had to go with Boo Lake over Broken Pier. Seriously what do the Mario Kart developers have against MKSC’s special cup, something that hasn’t had any course from it be a retro track in anything? Mario Kart Tour and/or the #MarioKart8BoosterPack seemed like the right time.

While the former half posted requesting to add new characters, the latter conveyed their disappointment. All in all, the franchise received a negative response to the course update ahead of Halloween week. However, that does not mean Nintendo won’t come back stronger. After all, the company is always looking out for fans so they might drop something unexpected.
