Nintendo Gets Minors’ Faulty Joystick Class Suit Booted, For Now

Nintendo of America Inc. shook off a proposed class action over allegedly defective Switch video game console controllers, as a federal court in California said kids, whose parents bought the systems, failed to allege ownership and therefore lack standing to sue.

Luz Sanchez and Dolly Vierra, and their minor children M.S. and A.D., alleged that flawed Nintendo Switch “Joy Con” controllers caused on-screen avatars to move without any input from the players, making the gaming systems unusable.
