According to a recent rumor, the yet-to-be-announced Nintendo Switch Pro is launching in 2022, instead of 2021 as believed previously. There are countless rumors regarding the Nintendo Switch receiving an upgrade, which would enable the console to run games at 4K.
The rumor started spreading like wildfire when some Animal Crossing screenshots were shared on its official Twitter account. Normally, screenshots for Nintendo Switch games are in 1080p resolution, yet those screenshots were at 4K quality.
There’s no denying that the Nintendo Switch bags incredible sales numbers, but players continue to complain about a few issues with the handheld console. According to an article, the Joy-Con controllers are suffering from drifting issues. Also, the hardware of Switch is comparatively weaker due to “technical limitations.” To combat this, Nintendo might be possibly working on a new and powerful console, likely to release alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.
As per a popular website, the rumor about the Nintendo Switch Pro coming out in 2022 came from the YouTube channel, SwitchUp, which is known to create Nintendo-related content. A few days ago, SwitchUp tweeted an interesting remark on the Nintendo Switch Pro and its availability next year in a global release. Since SwitchUp isn’t an official news source, it is advised that this information is taken with a grain of salt.
With Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl releasing this holiday season, fans will also expect to see a new console release after all the rumors. It’ll be a bummer to those who are anticipating the launch of a new console during the holidays.
Given that half of 2021 is almost over and no official talk of a new Nintendo console, the release of the anticipated Nintendo Switch Pro seems highly unlikely.
But get this: Nintendo Switch was launched alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and it wouldn’t be surprising if the Switch Pro also takes the same launch route as the Zelda sequel.
Nintendo has yet to confirm anything about Switch Pro. However, it’s only a matter of time before it makes an official announcement, so stay tuned for updates.
