XSEED Games has just released No More Heroes 3 on PC and from the looks of it, the PC version is a direct port of the Nintendo Switch version. What this basically means is that the game lacks the graphical improvements that have been made to the current-gen console that is available on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
GhenryPerez has shared some comparison screenshots between the PC, Nintendo Switch and PS5 versions. And, as we can see, the PC version looks identical to the Nintendo Switch version. On the other hand, the PS5 version appears to have a better draw distance.
Really big lol moment. Muteki handled the console rereleases of NMH3, while Bee Tribe handled the PC ports. PS5 version got updated visuals and draw distances. Even the shirts got updated textures. PC version doesn’t get any of this, because it’s literally the Switch version. pic.twitter.com/PwWKdNkg1z

Here’s a comparison. Switch version compensated in places where they used flat images for their background. PS4/5 port reworked these scenes so they kept the background fully rendered.
I know almost nothing about modding, but I don’t think adding this would be easy. pic.twitter.com/yhQC4ooNOY

The PS5 and Xbox Series X versions also suffer from some visual bugs. According to reports, there are graphical issues with their shadows and lighting. Ironically, these graphical issues are not present in the PC version. So while the PC version is a downgrade over its current-gen console version, it can be more enjoyable (until developers fix these graphical issues on PS5/Xbox Series X).
Still, it’s really disappointing witnessing a direct Nintendo Switch port for the PC. And let’s be realistic here. For a game that costs 50 bucks, you’d expect something more than just a Nintendo Switch port, especially when PC gamers can run already run it with 60fps in 4K via Nintendo Switch emulators.
But anyway, here is also the game’s launch trailer.
