Suda51 says No More Heroes can return if the fans want it to.
It seems more creators are now listening to their fans. Of course, community feedback is a big part of any game, especially for online multiplayers, but this has become true even for additional features and content. Hell, WB finally even released Zach Snyder’s Justice League after all the ‘Release the Snyder Cut’ uproar. No More Heroes creator, Goichi “Suda51” Suda also subscribes to this view, saying that No More Heroes 4 could be a possibility if fans really want it.
In a conversation with GNN, Suda admitted that No More Heroes could return, despite the third game being billed as the final battle for Travis (thanks VGC). If fans of the series really want to see Travis return (again), the developer might just consider granting their wishes.
“Yes, that’s right, Heroes No More 3 is Travis’ last battle,” said Suda. “Nobody could say what’s going to happen 10 years from now, and I can’t say either. If there’s a big fan outcry, Travis might be back. Just like Tom Cruise came back as Maverick.” Apart from this, Suda would also love to see a collection of all three games for modern platforms, and hopes that the publisher can make it happen. While nothing was elaborated upon, Suda also said that planning for the next project is underway and asked fans to look forward to it.
No More Heroes has been out for the Nintendo Switch since last year, and will finally be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 11.
In June, Suda mentioned that if a Hollywood adaptation of No More Heroes were to become a thing, Ryan Gosling would be the developer’s pick to play protagonist, Travis Touchdown, Some may think of Gosling as a dreamboat, only capable of romantic movies, but he does have a bad-boy image which can be crafted to fit Travis. “And as director, I’d probably go with James Gunn… Conversely, if we were going to go with a Japanese director, then I’d want to go with Takashi Miike”, said Suda when asked about who would helm the project.
